INTRO
Dangerous goods are covered by separate legislation, focus on controlling the different risks associated with. Many hazardous substances are also classified as dangerous goods.
While dangerous goods also pose a risk to the workforce, where they differ from hazardous substances is that they can have an immediate physical and/or chemical effect on people and the surrounding environment. Dangerous goods are typically flammable, corrosive, explosive, toxic, spontaneously combustible, oxidising or water-reactive. These types of goods are widely used in industry, so it’s vital that they are stored, handled and transported safely.
Objective:
This course provides an overview of dangerous goods. It covers all stages of dangerous goods, from recognition through to emergency situations.
