The Legionella awareness training course is designed for companies who deal with water and soil ecosystem where Legionella occurs naturally. One of the unusual features of the legionella causing diseases is that it can have a very wide range of effects on exposed persons, this makes diagnosis difficult. Often people recovering from the disease have kidney problems due to the nature of the infection; there is also progressive degeneration of the lung as well.
Who should attend?
Employers should consider this course for site management and maintenance personnel whose role and responsibility is to manage, supervise or carry out routine maintenance tasks which ensure safe storage and usage of water systems, as well as ensuring correct recording of all tasks/ actions in site log book format.
What will they learn?
Students will learn the introduction to Legionella Bacteria and Legionnaires Disease within the built environment, the control of legionella bacteria in water systems etc.
